Oden played around 18 minutes and recorded one assist in 4-2 loss against Kärpät.

I already mentioned his strong skating when he played in a national team but it was even more evident in Finnish U20 league. He is agile skater but especially his top speed clearly stands out in this league. Oden was able to use his speed well when he carried the puck and he was able to create some offense with his skating abilities. However I still think his offensive skills are limited and I wasn’t able to see much effective passing play from him. He also registered only one shot to the net even though he got a lot of time on ice.

Oden was able to play solid checking game though. He took a lot of takeaways during the game and his speed caused some trouble to the opponent while he was forechecking and I think this is the role where Oden has the most talent.

Oden got an assist after giving quick pass to the defender when his team got a face-off win. Other than that he was largely invisible.

Forward is a strong skater and he moves well. He is smart player off the puck and he is constantly in the position where he can receive pass. Other than that, his skill set is somewhat limited. He does pretty good job at the both ends of ice but he is not particularly impressive at anything.

Oden’s limited offensive skills are noticeable when he tries to carry the puck. He lost the puck multiple times when trying to protect it. He plays fine passing game though. Oden is still lightweight and it will be interesting to see if his puck protection and other aspects of the game will improve when he gains more strength.
