Nyman returned to Finland after spending two seasons in OHL. He made his pro league debut in this match. He played in the third line as left winger and he also got responsibility at the point in the second power play unit. He recorded 13 minutes of ice time, got three shots and he had a good goal-scoring opportunity during the game.

To me, Nyman looked like a classic player who is pretty good at almost everything, but who doesn’t excel at anything. His biggest weakness is his size and lack of strength as he struggled in board battles and one-on-ones against pro players and he seemed to avoid these kind of situations. His defensive game also needs some improvement since I don’t think he gave too much for his team at the defensive zone.

Nyman however has solid hands, he is agile skater with average speed and he has the smarts. His vision and movement off the puck were good already. He showed solid passing game during the match and he was really secure with the puck. He needs some time to adjust to pro game but when he does that, his offensive talent should make him pretty efficient player at least for Liiga.
