Mykrä had a very impressive game, as he scored twice and added a primary assist in Kärpät’s 4-5 overtime win over JYP in the U16 league. The 5’8” forward was playing as the left-winger in Kärpät’s top line and he was used in every situation by his coaches while also being the captain of the team.

Mykrä’s versatile offensive toolkit was on full display. His stride is not perfect, but he has excellent speed and especially his first few steps were very explosive. Mykrä’s skating allowed him to drive the play constantly and play at a high pace. Mykrä showcased very good stickhandling by making difficult moves at high speeds. His skating and hockey sense also allowed him to be very dangerous on the penalty kill, where he recorded an assist by stripping the puck from the opposing puck carrier and delivering a beautiful cross-ice pass for an easy one-timer finish. Mykrä was also sound defensively and supported his teammates well.
