Valkeejärvi scored the game-winning goal on a deflection and got a primary assist in JYP’s 4-3 win over TuTo. He centered JYP’s first line and received a lot of ice time on both special teams. Valkeejärvi is a good skater. His acceleration and top speed are both good. Other than that, he has still some work to do to become a dominant player at the U20 level. Valkeejärvi showed some nice skill and playmaking on the power play, but at 5 on 5 he was not very effective and played mostly without the puck. He is still a lightweight and got pushed around easily by the bigger opposing defencemen. Defensively, he still has a long way to go, but his quick feet allow him to be a competent two-way player.
