The 17-year old winger played his fifth regular season U20 league game on the first line of Lukko’s U20 team. He had two shots on goal and sat two minute penalties twice. His total playing time was 16:12.

Hölsömäki has been a high scoring winger as underaged on U16 and U18 level. Now he’s playing with bigger and older guys, which makes things a bit more challenging for him. His hands look fast and impressive, he’s fast with his stickhandling, but also sticking into crowded situations trying to win the puck battles. He doesn’t seem to shy away from physical battles, but he is still smaller than the most. Hölsömäki’s feet look light and quick, his skating technique seems good, but somehow lack power and therefore the top speed and powerful stride are not yet there. He seems to have good offensive instincts, but he also covered up defenders and therefore held on his own when it comes to defense.

Lukko’s U20 is not the strongest of the U20 league, so one has hope he gets decent playing time and starts to fill the net. However, to become a impact player he still has to improve physically and on his skating.
