Haapanen played his second game with Ilves Liiga team and managed to score his first goal in a pro game as well. The 18-year-old winger leads the Finnish Junior A in scoring after finising fourth in Junior B last season.

The winger sees the ice very well and has a high hockey IQ. He is a good skater and has smooth hands and a wide array of dekes in his repertoire. While he isn’t small, he needs to get more muscle. He lost almost all of his physical battles.
