Kärpät got a gold medal after winning this game 6-3 against Blues. Tieksola started the game really well and the forward made the first goal of the game. He stripped the puck off from the Blues player, went to breakaway and did solid finishing. Tieksola became more invisible as the game progressed however.

I still think Tieksola is raw, but extremely talented. He often shows flashes of brilliance, but occasionally he becomes invisible. At this point, Tieksola is pretty much only offensive player as his defensive game is still work in progress. I also think he needs more muscle and on top of that, he needs to become more straightforward and improve his toughness and sharpness.

However Tieksola is a fluid skater showing good agility and he is quick in transitions. He is smart and reads the play extremely well especially with the puck. He has above average stickhandling skills, he is able to make effective dekes and his creativity and accuracy with the passes is excellent. Thanks to his skill level and hockey IQ, he is able to do well even in tight spaces. These qualities makes Tieksola extremely interesting player and he might be picked surprisingly early.

Tieksola played over 20 minutes in Kärpät’s 2-3 overtime win over KalPa. He was featured on the top line and received lots of ice time on the power play.

Tieksola was one of the better players in the game despite being held pointless. The 5 foot 10 right-handed winger showed once again very good vision and stickhandling skills. Tieksola doesn’t make many mistakes the puck and is able to execute difficult passing plays in tight spaces. His vision makes him very effective on the power play and he easily could have had a couple of assists with a bit more luck.

Tieksola’s skating is good, although he could add a bit more speed considering his smallish stature. His stride looks very clean, though, and added muscle will definitely make quicker. Tieksola defensive game is still work in progress, but he shines in transitions. Tieksola has been one of the biggest risers on many draft boards and at this point, he looks like a potential third-round selection.

Tieksola is getting better everytime I see him. He was in my opinion the best forward in Kärpät’s 6-2 win. He gave two fantastic primary passes during the game, but unfortunately he wasn’t able to score, even though two of his quick wrist shots hit the post. The forward also had a breakaway attempt, but he failed with his effort. Overall, he recorded seven shots in the game.

Tieksola is really a smart player making constantly right decisions. He is clearly a playmaking winger giving precise and crafty passes tape to tape. His poise in tight space is also really good and he was able to keep the puck with his skill. He was also the player who ran the power play of Kärpät. The biggest concern with Tieksola is obviously his size. He is bit short and really lightweight currently. His defensive game might also require some fine-tuning in pro game, but that is something to be expected.

Tieksola is not a player with greatest top speed, but his skating is definitely not an issue, especially since his agility and acceleration are impressive. My overall impression of him was that alongside with his above average skills, he is also very dynamic forward with good work ethic and he does impressive job finding open space. With his smarts and skill, I’m certain some team will draft him in the next NHL Draft.

Tieksola has been efficient this season recording almost one point per game in Finnish U20 league. He had one more point in this game giving a primary assist for the first goal of Kärpät

To me, Tieksola looked like a player who for the most part is pretty good at everything but not particularly good at anything. Overall his skating, offensive abilties, positioning, vision, work ethic and defensive play were in a nice level for this level of play and that helps him being effective. He still have smallish stature and improving in physical side should help him a lot in a future.

However his stickhandling stood out from his other qualities. He wanted to have the puck, made some pretty good moves with it and he carried the puck with poise. He occasionally held the puck for too long time and he went to the perimeter easily, but his hands could be a dangerous asset, especially when he matures and gains more muscle and confidence.
