- 2018-09-30 at Tappara - Ässät, A-SM by Jokke Nevalainen
Karnaranta is just 15 years old but played on the top line for Ässät U20, and he was also used at the half-wall on their second power play unit.
Even though Karnaranta is very young and small, he was very noticeable on the ice. He’s an excellent skater and puck-handler. He needs to add some muscle and improve his top speed but that’s understandable considering his age. His defensive game also needs improvement but the effort is there.
Karnaranta looks ready to take over as the primary offensive dynamo on his team once Otto Kivenmäki moves up to pro hockey. He had already taken over the second PP unit because everything was running through him. He also had a great one-timer opportunity there but the opposing goalie made a great save.
