Pulli has seen more responsibility in the TPS defense when the season has progressed. The game against Blues was not his best however and he was on the bench a lot during the third period of this game.
Pulli started the game well. In the first period, he actually showed some decent puck-handling skills showing relatively smooth hands, giving crisp passes and carrying the puck well away from the defensive zone. For the most part he relied on simple plays, but he did that pretty well. His second period was disappointing however and his passes didn’t connect. Pulli has an interesting size and while he obviously isn’t physically ready yet, he shows promise at the own end game having sound positioning and willingness to go into board battles.
The defenceman is not the strongest skater at the moment, but he is surprisingly agile making really shift turns even with the puck. He really needs to improve his top speed, but if he is able to do so, he should be able to use his good qualities a lot better. Therefore I think he might still have a lot of unused potential.
