Laitinen got a goal in this game and that goal showcased his strengths. The defenceman got the puck behind his goal and begun to carry it. He was able to get past couple of opponents with an efficient dangle, gave pass to the forward and joined the rush. He skated very quickly towards the goal and was able to steer the puck to the net in front of the goal.

Laitinen is pretty small defenceman and that causes him trouble in battles. He needs to gain more strength, but at the same time he needs to make sure that his skating won’t suffer. I also think he could be sharper and read the play bit better at the own end.

The defenceman moves the puck well however and he certainly has some offensive talent. His defending with the stick isn’t too bad either.
